Elliott is perfectly happy and this point to open and close all the doors on the barn and play with the limited number of moving parts. But, at some point, I think he'll want actual farm animals or people to play with in the barn. Goodwill, while having two of these barns, had no Little People figures. My plan was to keep an eye out for the farm figures on Craigslist and Goodwill, and if none are to be found, order them from Mattel for $13 for the set.
Fast forward a few weeks, we were perusing the Indy Kids Consignment sale, and I had Little People on my shopping list. I knew it was a long shot, but I scoured the toy table- and there they were! Four farm figurines for a dollar! Hooray!
And then, in line to check out, I take a closer look. Cow. Horse. Sheep. Lion? Hmm.
One of these is not like the others. |

I'll have to see if I have doubles. We have SO many little people toys we got from a friend and a yardsale. I think Beth is making a trip down to visit me and if she is I'll pass on some animals and tractors if we have them!
I'm not sure if I want any more figurines, after seeing how many Beth has. I'm afraid they start reproducing or something.
how did you do at the IKC sale? I've only been to that one once and it was a pretty miserable experience... overpriced items, long lines, didn't really make me want to go back.
I felt like we did pretty well. We got a push toy, an umbrella stroller, a couple outfits, a few more pants, shoes & socks, &a couple pairs of BabyLegs, all for under $40. The line wasn't bad- though, I went to the presale once, and THAT was a long line. The only other consignment sale I've been to is Whale of a Sale, and I felt the stuff there was higher priced, with a much longer line.
In the past, I've gone to the IKC sale on Saturday when things are 1/2 price to get clothes, because I'm not picky. I'd say prices were higher than garage sales, more on par with Goodwill- but stuff was in better shape than either.
Disclaimer: I know the people who run the IKC sale, and many of the volunteers. :)
This was one of my favorite toys of all time. :) Fun to see the little sweetie playing with it!
