Christmas movies

Everyone loves a good Christmas movie.

There are the obvious choices: Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th St, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Polar Express. One of my favorites: A Muppet Christmas Carol. My sister's favorite is Elf. When I started thinking about it, I could name lots of movies that are at least set at Christmas time, even though they don't come to mind as "Christmas movies"- Home Alone (and the sequels), Enemy of the State, Hook, Shop Around the Corner (a Jimmy Stewart movie that was remade as You've Got Mail), and, of course, Josh's favorite, Die Hard & Die Hard 2. Santa makes an appearance in The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe. Lady & the Tramp starts and ends at Christmas. Toy Story ends Christmas morning. Josh says Batman Returns falls into this category, too.

What other pseudo-Christmas movies can you come up with?

You can't forget Nightmare Before Christmas. And while I'm thinking about Tim Burton, I'm not positive but I think Edward Scissorhands also has several key moments centered around Christmas.

Serendipity - such a Christmas movie!

The Holiday - more recent movie

Narnia - always a feel good one

To be correct, "santa" does not appear in Narina- Father Christmas does.

Oh Kristen beat me to it!

You forgot two of my favorites!! "White Christmas" and "Holiday Inn". And of course, there's "A Christmas Story" - I'm surprised you didn't mentioned that one. :-)

Other ones: "Love Actually", "About a Boy" (starting and ending on Christmas), "A Charlie Brown Christmas", "Little Women", "Stepmom", and I'll second Caroline's nomination of "The Holiday". Doesn't "101 Dalmatians" end on Christmas too?
