Bike to Work Week!

So, I had no idea- I just discovered today that this week is Bike to Work Week! For the rest of the week, weather permitting, I'll participate. Josh dropped me off at work today, and I'll probably walk home. If you can, join lots of people on Friday for National Bike-to-work Day!

Indianapolis is having a big event, and has even made an official proclamation.

Get some exercise, avoid the traffic, help the planet!

Oooh it's about a month too early! :-) I'll be able to participate in mid-June. As it is right now, I think that I will put myself in danger by trying to bike to work. :-) Not to mention I don't own a bike...

That's great! I've been thinking about biking to work again for the past couple of weeks. Hopefully we get a nice day tomorrow or Friday so I can participate.

Hooray for bikes. Over the last few months, I've been lucky enough to be living where I'm not only close enough to bike to work but the ride is actually reasonably safe (via the beautiful Monon trail). And it has truly been a blessing. The morning air is terrific. I'm getting a little much needed exercise. The pace is a slower...I can actually smile and say "Hi" to others on the trail. Taking traffic into the equation, it really doesn't even take much more time than driving. I even saw a gopher on the way home the other day!

Today was comic book day or I would've ridden today. Tomorrow is looking good.

We bike to work every day! Oh wait... you don't mean that type of bike, do you? Ah well, next year I'll be walking to work... that should make up for it. :)

Even though the 'official' week is over, I'm still pedal-powering my way to work as much as possible. Hopefully I'll make a habit of it, and biking to work for the summer will be the rule rather than the exception.

The best way to force yourself to bike to work every day is for one of your cars to kick the bucket. ;-)
