Three years

Yahoo! AvatarsThree years ago, I don't know what got into me. I started a blog. Here's how it all started:
So this is blogging...
It seems to be the trendy thing to do. Or is it the geeky thing to do? I've always tended toward 'geeky' rather than 'trendy', but I'm OK with that. It's funny, once upon a time, diaries were kept under lock and key to keep everyone out of our deepest thoughts about life. Now thousands of people post their daily journals for the world to read on the most effective communications medium ever.
I don't know if this will turn into a diary of sorts, I doubt it. I imagine, if I keep posting, it will be my musings about life, the universe and everything. I like musing. I also like feedback. I may be way off in left field with my ideas. Let me know. Play devil's advocate with me. I love lively discussions. I dare you.
It's really interesting- I look back, and I have a record of the big and little events and thoughts that have happened in my life. I haven't put everything up here, obviously. Some of the biggest issues have been left out completely, to be sensitive to the public nature of this forum. I do like that it's a forum. Back in the day, Blogger didn't even have comments, and I had to use an external feature to get feedback on the blog, until they added them. Check out that fun Archives drop-down box to discover other parts of my life in the last three years.

Fun facts:
- The period of time where I blogged the least was the summer of 2005, posting only 3 times in June. That summer, I was living without an internet connection while housesitting, and after being on the computer all day at work, I didn't want to hang out any longer at the office to blog.

- By far, my most prolific blogging has been in the last few months, since the beginning of 2007. I averaged over one post a day last month. My traffic has been up, too, since now there's more to read... not that quantity equals quality, and not that anything on here is quality :)

- As I started posting more recently (and discovered a love for cooking), I started a second blog. Sunflowers in my Kitchen will have its official one MONTH anniversary tomorrow.

And, of course, none of this would be any fun without your reading and input, so, thanks! We'll see if I can keep this up for the next three years! Ha!

So I was reading the posts you linked to here, and I was surprised to see that I commented on some of your really old ones! I guess I started reading your blog earlier than I thought.

I miss you being on IM. That's how i seem to keep up with people these days. I'm bad at random phone calls. :-p Oh well, I guess I should just call you!

I have a ways to go before my blog is out of the terrible twos.

But, it's just a couple weeks until my 2nd anniversary of speed cubing. I count this blog entry as marking my official entry into this elite circle of geekdom. I'll have to celebrate somehow.
