Homegrown Decor

I have never, never, never claimed to be good at decorating. I just don't have an artistic eye for color of balance or anything. I'm all for 'practical' over 'pretty' any day.

And that's why I focused on growing vegetables this year and barely gave a thought to the flower gardens.

Come fall, though, I need to clean up my vegetable garden, and an idea struck.

Corn stalks and squash just scream "fall decor", don't you think?

These now adorn my porch, ready for the impending season. I'm glad I got to do something with the drying cornstalks and squash-beetle-ravaged plants!

Well there you go! I have never grown a pumpkin or a corn stalk in my life. So we use what we've got and you are FULLY PREPARED for fall nesting! Good for you! That makes me so happy!

So glad you are a part of Fall Nesting!

Blessings,
melissa

you did just great! I thought I was growing pumpkins but my plant doesn't have a thing on it beside leaves. Shucks.

Don't sell yourself short in your composition and eye, you did a nice job!

Absolutely - they "scream" fall! :-) How great you had them in your garden!

That looks so nice. Too bad I fed my cornstalks to the goats! Practical takes over again! :)
