Last weekend was my sister's bridal shower - she's getting married on 06/07/08, and the wedding will be awesome. Check out the details here. Her fiance's mother makes beautiful things- the invitation, the programs, scrapbooks- and the hostess of the bridal shower also went over-the-top making the bridal shower beautiful. I knew I was against tough competition. My gift of washcloths and kitchen towels was going to look pretty drab compared to the fancy stuff coming from Crate and Barrel. And I'm the sister! I was supposed to come up with something creative! What did I do?
I took the pack of 12 washcloths or various colors and a couple dishtowels and rolled them to look like flowers. There were 4 green washcloths, conveniently, that I could surround the rolls with to look like leaves. To make sure people got the idea I was trying communicate, I added a few flowers from the garden for good measure.
Voila!
Seriously, this took every creative bone in my body. Making things 'crafty' and presented well is something I'm not naturally good at, but trying to learn. I think, it's healthy, too, to get me off my laptop & working with my hands every now and then.

What an amazing idea! I really like that! You did a great job!
I love that you did that! It looks great. Presentation goes a long way, I think.
You never can have too many washcloths or towels! Way to be practical :)
Bravo! Very well done.
Like Kacie said, you can't go wrong with washcloths. And you might even luck out and unwittingly end up matching their decor, like my wife did when she made this basket of dishcloths, etc. as a wedding gift.
It was a creative and beautiful gift!

Not only was your gift fun and creative, it smelled so nice! I enjoyed it the whole time I helped Caroline with the gift opening. You're a great sister, and a very thoughtful one. I can't wait to see the pictures!
