It's been so dry here. Walking home the other day, the grass crunched under my feet and my toes were dusty. This should be the state of the ground in August, not June.
I walked to work today, left home at 7:15 & got there at 7:30. I noticed it was cloudy, and the wind was cool it was a great temperature to be outside in, and the break from the 90-degree heat was welcomed. I had to dodge sprinklers that were watering the sidewalk, to avoid getting soaked by their spray.
At 7:37, not long after I had sat down at my desk, it was pouring outside- the hardest rain we've had in weeks.
I really need to get in the habit of checking the weather before I leave to walk to work.

So question: What do you do/plan to do about walking to work when it's raining? I'm trying to figure out the best way for me to keep dry and looking nice.
If the weather's bad, I get dropped off or picked up by my husband, who has a similar work schedule to myself, when he's on his way to or from work. I haven't run into the problem yet, however, because, as I mentioned, it hasn't rained much in the last many weeks.
I'm think a poncho/umbrella thing might work well for me. :-) The thing I'm worried about is my shoes. I guess I should get some goulashes as well?
