Dodging the rising gas price

I just got back to going to lunch with my husband. I've been watching the news about gas hitting a ridiculous $78 a barrel and didn't want to get bitten by a large gas bill anytime soon, so, although my tank was only 1/2 empty, we filled it up after lunch at $2.81. We got caught in traffic and had to turn around, and when we passed the gas station we had just left, gas was $2.99.

This is just the beginning, my friends. Good thing we work and shop walking distance from home!

That's weird - our gas went DOWN two cents from morning to lunchtime. It's probably the "calm before the storm" - or something like that. :-p
