Vacation Adventures: Fallingwater
Last week, we discovered that our trip to Pennsylvania was going to take us by the famed Frank Lloyd Wright home, Fallingwater. On our way back, we made a point to stop at the house and take a tour. The house was so interesting- really a piece of art more than a place to live. All the lines in the house (walls, shelves, staircases, etc) were either vertical, mimicking the trees that were visible from everywhere in the house, or horizontal, mimicking the rock shelves and strata lines. There wasn't a diagonal or curved line in the house! Even the early twentieth century furniture, all designed by Wright, was still in the house and had the same look and feel.
