A Cricket

There is a cricket in our office.

And it keeps singing. Maybe there's a couple, I can't tell. The high-pitched chirping is beautiful and peaceful when experienced in the wide open spaces of nature and camping nights. In a fluorescent-lit office, however, the sound is much less welcome. I wonder if the real plants that are now in our office are attracting the singing insects? Or at least feeding them? I LOVE the real trees, for sure, but this is one vote for silk trees, I suppose. Even with the insect-generated background noise that , I prefer the real plants.

OK, I can't resist: The crickets that come with the real trees are a feature, not a bug!

I think you could have indeed resisted.
