Cameraphone captures of LAST week

This post is a long time coming... I had this whole series of pictures I was waiting till the end of the week to post, and the weekend came and went with no blog post. Bad Joanna.

Anyway, this story needs some background. Chick-fil-a is a cool company. They have a corporate purpose and they live it out in a variety of ways. They definitely do more than serve chicken sandwiches. I've been indoctrinated with a healthy respect of the fast-food company since birth, when my mother worked at the Chick-fil-a corporate office. A year ago, Josh & I were planning a life in Atlanta, in hopes I would get a job with the same corporate office (I blogged from the airport while stuck there on my way back from the Atlanta interview)

So, this background can give you an idea why I was excited that a free-standing Chick-fil-a was opening up about 5 minutes from where we live. It was to open last Thursday, and last Tuesday, marketing people for the store came around to various businesses in the area handing out coupons. The group went into Josh's bank, and he began talking to them, relaying the story above, and saying something about us being "big fans". Well, he was handed an invitation to the "Premiere Night" dinner that night- two days before they opened! When he let me know this, I was a very excited girl.

The event was as fancy as you could get for a fast-food restaurant. Before the program, 'waiters' came around taking drink orders and serving chicken nuggets on a platter. A A violin player played Christmas carols, and the Eat-Mor-Chikin cow made an appearance. All-in-all, a good time. As a bonus, the meal was free, & we got to try their new cookies & cream shake.

This event warranted its own cameraphone-capture album.

Hey! That's pretty cool. I actually already saw the pictures in your album, and I wondered what they were for. How'd you like their new old-fashioned milkshakes? Paul and I like them, but we wish they came in a smaller size. They're a bit too much for us!
