Aquile...Here's what they are, from top to bottom:<BR/><BR/>1. Aquilegia (columbine)<BR/>2. Allium (chives, duh)<BR/>3. Phlox subulata (creeping phlox)<BR/>4. Hyacinthoides non-scripta (Spanish bluebells. They obviously come in colors other than blue.)<BR/>5. Weigela. Don't know what variety, it's the most old-fashioned basic one. I LOVE it in bloom, too. It's rather stiff and twiggy other times.<BR/>6. Ornithogalum umbellatum (Star-of-bethlehem) It's really a weed, but sort of attractive anyway.<BR/>7. Papaver orientale (oriental poppy) Something is wrong with Indiana. Where I'm from, you can grow oriental poppies in colors OTHER than flagging-tape orange. In IN, I only see the orange ones!<BR/>8. Iris something-or-other. That particular one can re-bloom in the fall sometimes.<BR/>9. Dianthus, but I'm not sure which one. If you haven't smelled the blooms, they smell like anise and it is WONDERFUL.<BR/>10 - 12. More columbines. The really ruffly one is a variety called "Pretty Bonnets."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
